What is TheMemphisEdge.com?

It’s our goal here to take a little edgier (hence the name of the site) view of Sports than we put in the daily newspaper at The Commercial Appeal. Many of us will be posting to it on a daily basis as the occasional odd thought strikes. Sometimes it will be about things we cover. Sometimes it will be a random thought or two.

Another goal we have is producing podcasts Monday through Friday. The podcasts will feature members of the staff talking about their areas of expertise, with either sports editor Gary Robinson or deputy sports editor Randy Bruce as the host. The podcasts are called “5 minutes on the Edge.” It’ll give readers a chance to hear the thoughts of the reporters in their specific areas.

As we expand and improve, there will also be site-exclusive content that we hope will bring you back again and again.

Is this site part of The Commercial Appeal?

Yes. Although we have our own domain name (TheMemphisEdge.com), you can also access us through commercialappeal.com.

How do I post comments to this site?

Under each comment from our staff, you’ll have the opportunity to respond. Those responses will go directly to the reporter and the reporter will choose the best of the bunch to go up on the site.

What the heck is a podcast?

Hey, we didn’t know a few months ago, either. A podcast is an audio feed that you can either listen to while you’re on the site or download to your mp3 player and listen to at your leisure.
